FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where do your animals come from?

We work with local ranchers in Southern Oregon who raise buffalo, beef, lamb and chicken. Our elk is shipped in from farms in Canada. These are free range animals which we process from start to finish in our Federally Licensed plant.

How are your animals raised?

It is typical for our animals to graze on naturally fertilized grass, fed only by their own bi product of manure and worm tea - which is also used as a natural fertilizer. We adhere to strict humane treatment, meaning adequate shelter from heat in the summer and cold in the winter. Our animals have fresh, clean areas to rest in as well as fresh water . We require all hay feeders be at least 250 yards from any stream and require sprinkling verses flood irrigation for stream safety.

Do the farmers use chemicals or steroids to raise their animals?

No. Our animals are not injected with dangerous chemicals or steroids. We believe everyone should be able to purchase high quality meat without the side effects of chemicals.

How are you able to sell at such low prices to the public?

Quite simply, there are no middlemen involved since we are purchasing live animals and processing every step of the way. This allows us to oftentimes sell cheaper than a local grocer who gets meat that may have changed hands several times on its way from the farm, to the slaughter house, the processing plant, the wholesale distributor, and the retailer.

How do I feed my pet your all natural pet food?

When cooked, our pet food is meant to be a supplement to your pets normal diet. Typically the cooked meat is mixed in with dry dog food. Sometimes owners may mix vegetables in with the meat as well. If you are feeding your pet natural meat pet food for the first time, you will need to slowly incorporate it into the pet's diet. Start with small amounts and slowly increase to the desired full amount over the course of several weeks.

Many people recommend that when you begin feeding raw that you stick to only raw food as the digestion time can be shorter than for kibble. Some dogs can eat kibble and raw with no apparent problems, however.

Consult your vet for further questions about your specific pet.

What are the benefits of a raw pet food diet?
  • Offers a natural and nutritionally-balanced diet based on what dog's have eaten for thousands of years
  • Healthier coat and skin
  • Better digestion and stool
  • More energy and a healthier immune system
  • Cleaner teeth and gums and fresher breath
  • Improved behavior and disposition
  • Offers variety and options for your dog
  • Weight control, both in gaining weight or losing excess fat
  • Carbohydrates are often the cause of allergy and digestive problems; carbs make up a small part of the raw food diet as opposed to commercial foods, which feature carbs heavily as ingredients
  • Free of preservatives, sweeteners, additives and fillers found in commercial food
